Keyboarding in Today's Classroom

In order for students to succeed in Computer Applications and Business classes, students must first know how to key text. Keyboarding is the main input method for computers and with the widespread use of computers by younger students, it will continue to play a dominant role in the classroom. Business and Computer Technology educators have long recognized the value of keyboarding as a basic skill needed by all students to advance to the higher level business and computer courses.This issue of Technology Turning Points emphasizes the importance of keyboarding and how it is evolving. Keyboarding courses are now being taught in the middle and even elementary schools and some schools have started teaching keyboarding courses through online programs.
