Project Based Learning in the Computer Education Curriculum

Teachers help students learn various skills in the classroom every day. However, showing students how to apply these skills to a real world scenario can be a bit more difficult. One way in which teachers reach this goal is by integrating Project Based Learning (PBL) into their curriculum. The PBL approach allows students to apply the knowledge learned in the classroom to real world and work place situations. Technology compliments PBL because it provides students with tools to build a finished project that effectively displays their knowledge. Students find the whole process more meaningful than a string of unrelated assignments and enjoy seeing a project through to completion. This issue of Technology Turing Points highlights how you can use PBL successfully in your classroom today.
